Blackwater River State Park, FL. 23-25 Sep 2012
After driving for the majority of the day on Sunday we arrived at Blackwater River State Park early evening with enough time to set up camp, cook dinner and enjoy a quiet night in the woods. We camped at a ‘primitive’ camp site Jeremy and a couple of his friends found a couple years before on their road trip across the country.
We woke up the next morning, cooked breakfast then headed to the river for the day. This was the first day of our whole trip we had nothing planned and it was fabulous. The Blackwater River is a beautiful river with clear water and a soft, white sandy river bed. We stuck our folding chairs right in the water and sat there reading our books for a few hours. After a relaxing afternoon on the beach we drove a few miles to the park’s campsite and set up camp there for the night. We cooked dinner and had another quiet relaxing night.
The next morning we woke up and took a walk back down to the river to enjoy it one last time before we left. Later that morning we packed Rusty up and started our journey to New Orleans!
