Acadia National Park, ME. 30 Aug 2012

Our first stop after leaving camp was Acadia National Park. We were escoreted up there by Nolan (who has spent many a camping trip in the park) and his dog Wick. We arrived late and set up camp at Hadley’s Point Campground. The following morning we set out to climb the Bee Hive which was pretty hairy at times but well worth the climb to see the amazing view of Sand Beach and the surrounding park. Wick even made it to the top with a little help from Nolan.

The next morning we got up at 5am and drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain to be among the first people in the US to see the sunrise. There was actually about 200 people up there but it was still pretty cool. We then headed into Bar Harbor for breakfast at Jordan’s Diner then back for a nap in Rusty.
